Capen Building

This one-story structure at 2005-07 Western was built around 1880.  Benjamin L. Capen opened a thrashing machine sales shop here.  He later operated a steam fitting and boiler making business.  The building later became known as B. L. Capen Plumbing and Heating.

In July on 1961, Ray Degler cleared the site for surface parking for his building at 2003 Western where So-Lite Manufacturing Company was located.

Today, the Degler building and the vacant lot are occupied by Debuhr's Seed and Feed.  A greenhouse sits on the open lot.
