Ben Franklin

Ben Franklin moved its operations to 1501 Broadway in 1978 and changed its name to Tresslars.  Don Lee Carpets moved into its former location next to Walker’s Supermarket.  Don Lee’s stay was short lived.  The building originally housed Mallory Hardware around 1900.

 

In 1979, Wilb Walker acquired building and created 26 new parking places for his store.  Walker’s has since burned, and the entire site is now a parking lot for new store across Prairie Avenue.

Ben Franklin was located about where the entrance is to County Market parking lot.
