Kuehne Manufacturing

Kuehne Manufacturing began producing dinette sets in May of 1932 at their new plant on the south side of town, east of the Illinois Central tracks. They stayed in business until for 33 years, closing in 1965. The company had lost a $750,000 law suit for copying designs.

In 1970, Superior Equipment opened at the same location. They closed in the 1980's. In 2004, the empty buildings were demolished.
