Link Clinic

During World War II, Dr. Joseph Link, Dr. E.X. Link, and Dr. Edward Zinchlag, opened a clinic in the building at 215 S. 17th Street.  The building had been built in the early 1900's, and was used for medical offices in the 1920's.  As the clinic grew, and more physicians were added, they outgrew the site and built their own building next door in 1970.  This new building is being used as the police headquarters today.  The Coles County Mental Health department used the former Link Clinic after the medical offices moved out.  In September of 1995, the empty building was declared unsafe by the City building inspector and was razed.
